South Korea and Czechia will not want to miss the opportunity to get points on the board when they kick off their World Cup campaigns in Guadalajara.
Drawn alongside co-hosts Mexico, South Korea are in their 11th consecutive World Cup. Only former winners Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain boast longer appearance streaks at the tournament.
Their best effort was a run to the 2002 semifinals on home soil and Hong Myung-bo, the captain of that side, is back as his country's head coach.
Czechia needed penalties to see off Denmark in the UEFA playoffs and will be wary that South Korea have won their past two World Cup matches against European opposition, beating Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal in 2022 and sensationally ending Germany's title defence at the group stage in 2018.
