Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has made his choice clear for this year's Ballon d'Or winner.

Barcelona's Lamine Yamal and PSG's Ousmane Dembele are currently being considered the top contenders for the annual award.

Both stars have pulled off impressive displays for their respective clubs this season, with Yamal winning the domestic treble with Barcelona, and Dembele contributing to PSG's first-ever continental treble.

Now, Mbappe has shared his thoughts on who he will vote for as this year's Ballon d'Or winner while mentioning it is too early to pick a name.

What did Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe say?

Mbappe candidly stated (comments via Madrid Universal) that he is rooting for his national teammate Dembele over Yamal. The French duo has also shared the pitch alongside each other at PSG, having a total of 11 joint goal participations in 78 matches.

“Would I vote for Dembele? Yes. Do I really need to explain? We’re talking about Yamal and Dembele, I’m going for Dembele. It’s very clear!" said Mbappe.

"Today we’re talking about Ousmane and Lamine. It changes very quickly, the last winners showed that. We weren’t talking about certain players who won in the end. Is it September? A lot will happen between now and then, but today we’re talking about Ousmane and Lamine. That’s why I replied," he added.

With both Yamal and Dembele having a great shot at receiving the honor, it remains to be seen who will be receiving the Ballon d'Or on September 22.
