Kristaps Porzingis' availability has been inconsistent throughout his NBA career, but a non-injury health issue has plagued him in recent years.

After re-signing the Warriors in the summer, the big man's hope was to play a full season for Golden State. Instead, more questions about his health have popped up in the weeks leading up to the Warriors' opener.

With rumors flying about his health, Porzingis took to X to try to clarify what he's dealing with on Wednesday.

Here's a look at what Porzingis said and when he could return to the court.

Kristaps Porzingis sends message on health

Porzingis said Wednesday that he's "working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health," adding that he is "getting better and better."

While Porzingis didn't reveal what he's dealing with, or say whether doctors definitively know what he's dealing with, he did clear up one rumor that spread baselessly around the internet by confirming he doesn't have HIV or AIDS.

I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I'm in the best hands. So everyone can relax now 😄🙏🏼 and I don’t have hiv or aids.

"I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I'm in the best hands," Porzingis said.

The 31-year-old first battled a mystery illness during his time with the Celtics in 2025. He later revealed that Celtics doctors diagnosed him with POTS, a condition that can manifest in exhaustion and rapid heartrate. It's unclear, however, if that's what's causing Porzingis to be sidelined now, and he didn't offer any definitive answers on Wednesday.

Here's what you need to know about Porzingis' return timeline.

When will Kristaps Porzingis return?

The Warriors announced Wednesday that Porzingis "will remain out indefinitely" but will be with the team going forward. Before returning to Golden State's facility on Tuesday, Porzingis had been away from the team.

On Monday, Warriors coach Steve Kerr was unable to say if he knew where Porzingis was during his time away from the team.

Steve Kerr said Kristaps Porzingis will be at Chase tomorrow. Will meet with Rick Celebrini and #Warriors’ medical team to evaluate where he’s at. Asked him later if he knew if Porzingis has been in the Bay or out of the country across the last week. Said no comment. https://t.co/FouPRnpBL3

With the Warriors' season starting in just a week, Porzingis is set to miss some time to open the year; how long his absence will extend is entirely unclear.
