Tony Khan revealed that Kenny Omega persuaded him to hire Konosuke Takeshita
Konosuke Takeshita has been a part of the AEW roster since 2021. He has been a regular feature on TV and has competed in some high-profile matches. Takeshita has proven that he has what it takes to be a top star in the Jacksonville-based promotion someday. Apparently, it was Kenny Omega who had a big hand to play in his signing.

“It was Kenny Omega who first came to me and said, ‘I really believe in Takeshita, and if you give him an opportunity here, I think you’re really gonna like him,’ and boy was Kenny right.. I’m really excited because I think Takeshita’s had great mentorship, and here in AEW, we really believe in him and he’s risen to these opportunities,” said Khan [H/T: WrestlePurists on X]It remains to be seen if Takeshita will also be able to win the AEW World Championship one day.
