Kon Knueppel credits his teammates for helping him get the historic three-point record

Kon Knueppel continues to succeed as one of the most impressive rookies of all time. He is now the most prolific three-point shooter for a rookie, as he broke Keegan Murray's record for most three-pointers made.

With 22 games left in the Charlotte Hornets' season, Knueppel will continue to expand his lead for the record. It will be quite a tough record to break because Knueppel is still developing as a shooter with each game.

Knueppel shares the credit for his historic record with his teammates

Knueppel has been one of the best players for the Hornets as a rookie. He has been the catalyst behind their success this season, as they finally got a reliable scorer alongside LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller.

In the Rookie of the Year race, there are only two players who have a chance at winning, and Knueppel might have taken the lead. The other contender is Cooper Flagg, Knueppel's Duke teammate back in college.

Moving forward, Knueppel will continue to set records with his three-point shooting, but he does not want to take the credit on his own.

He wants to keep fighting and crediting his teammates for helping him get the open looks he's getting. The Hornets' players themselves are always confident with Knueppel's shots.

"My teammates for embracing me. They're really helping me out, that's a lot of threes, and a lot of looks from teammates... It's been a blast this year, and we're looking forward to playing meaningful basketball at the end of it. And so we'll just keep going," Knueppel said after Thursday's game.

Knueppel is set for a lengthy career in the NBA. It will be a fantastic stretch for the young rookie because he is only getting started. With this kind of performance level, it will be tough to get past Knuppel being a star in the future.
