Knicks superfan Spike Lee makes bold playoffs prediction after Pope Leo XIV announcement

Spike Lee is officially a believer.

A believer, that is, in the New York Knicks winning an NBA championship. Not that the super fan would've denied it before, but after Thursday? He's all in.

His feelings have to do with the new leader of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV.

Leo XIV was previously Cardinal Robert Prevost. He graduated from Villanova University in 1977.

These are the 'Nova Knicks, led by Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart, three players who won national championships for the Augustinian university.

Lee called the selection of the pope a "holy blessing" to the Knicks.

The new pope once retweeted a post celebrating one of the Wildcats' national titles. A small thing, to be sure, but definite fandom.

The Knicks have used some supernatural ability to twice come back from 20 down to beat the Celtics in the conference semifinals.

Maybe they have the big guy upstairs on their side after all.
