The first game of the Eastern Conference Finals between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers was nothing short of sensational. The Knicks had a double-digit point lead late in the game before the Pacers somehow came back and forced overtime.
Tyrese Haliburton hit a must-see buzzer-beater, although it was then ruled a two-pointer since his foot was on the line. That tied the game and sent it to overtime, and the Pacers escaped with a 138-135 win in Game 1 of the ECF.
It was quite the collapse by the Knicks, but Haliburton's shot had Kawhi Leonard-Toronto Raptors Game 7 vibes as it bounced up and then in on a weird turn of events.
However, a replay of the shot has brought into light a potential double-dribble, and Knicks fans were even more upset.

— Hoops (@HoopMixOnly) May 22, 2025"I have no idea any longer what #NBA refs are looking at. It’s obvious they are not looking at what transpires before their eyes. Also, what is the deal with the LATE whistles??? What are refs waiting for?" one fan asked.
"knicks definitely choked this game away but let them be on the side of getting away with double dribbles and clear goal tends and media wouldn’t let you hear end of a made up narrative on how the NBA wants the knicks to win," another said.
"double dribble," another fan wrote. "Double dribble. Bridges never touched the ball," another said.
Some thought Mikal Bridges fouled Haliburton, which led him to drop the ball before picking it back up, so it has been quite the debate since Haliburton's clutch shot to tie the game.
To make things even worse, Haliburton hit the Reggie Miller choke gesture toward the Knicks fans, and the Pacers walked away with the win in stunning fashion.
