La La Anthony, who is the mother of Kiyan Anthony and his girlfriend Angel Bradley were beaming with excitement after Anthony made his college basketball debut for the University of Syracuse on Tuesday.
The freshman guard was stellar in his highly anticipated debut, recording 15 points, three rebounds and three assists, shooting 6-for-10, in 29 minutes off the bench. A strong performance from Anthony as Syracuse grabbed its first win of the season, defeating Binghamton.
After the game, La La Anthony, who was in the crowd, cheering her son on, flooded her Instagram stories with pictures and moments from before and after the game.

While Anthony was solid in his debut for his father's alma mater, the freshman guard has a long way to go if he is to live up to his father's legacy at Syracuse. The 19-year-old guard discussed the immenseness of the task he has taken up.
“It’s definitely overwhelming,” Anthony told The Daily Orange. “I’m not even gonna lie and sit here like it’s a bed of roses. It’s definitely a lot of pressure.”Carmelo Anthony played 35 games for Syracuse, averaging 22.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. Even if Anthony catches up to his father in college, he'll be faced with another daunting task in the NBA.
Following a 17-year season in the league, Carmelo retired while being widely regarded as one of the best scorers in basketball. For now, Kiyan Anthony will be focused on returning to action when Syracuse faces the Delaware State Hornets on Saturday.
