AEW is home to a lot of young talent and experienced veterans and a platform for stars from other promotions to showcase their skills as well. A major star from New Japan Pro Wrestling recently suffered a serious injury at an All Elite Wrestling event. The star is none other than Tomohiro Ishii.

Ishii is one of the most respected japanese wrestlers in the world today. He is a former six-time NEVER Openweight Champion and a former IWGP Tag Team Champion. He is currently in his first reign as the Strong Openweight Champion. Despite being an NJPW wrestler, he makes sporadic appearances for the Tony Khan led promotion.

Unfortunately, the Japanese star suffered a major injury at a recent event. New Japan Pro Wrestling shared the news on their official website stating that Ishii dislocated his right shoulder at an AEW live event on October 22nd in San Antonio, Texas. The company stated that he won't be competing at any forthcoming events and there's no specific date for his return announced yet.

The Japanese wrestling promotion also apologised to the fans who were expecting to see him compete at future events. Sportskeeda Wrestling wishes Tomohiro Ishii a speedy recovery from this shoulder injury.

Tomohiro Ishii recently faced PAC at AEW Collision

Tomohiro Ishii squared off against the Death Riders' PAC at the October 22 episode of AEW Collision. This was the first time both stars were having a match against each other.

Throughout the match, the Death Riders tried to interfere. During the intense bout, Ishii seemed to dominate most of the match. However, PAC secured the win after surviving a hard hitting battle. This was PAC's third match since he returned from injury few months ago.

It will be interesting to see if both Ishii and PAC have a rematch after the Japanese wrestling veteran gets cleared to compete again.
