Kiefer Sutherland facing criminal charges for alleged attack on LA ride-share driver

Los Angeles prosecutors are reviewing the case of Kiefer Sutherland after the actor was accused of assaulting a ride-share driver in Hollywood earlier this month.

The LA County District Attorney’s Office told NBC4 that it has been presented with the case for potential criminal charges against the “24” star.

It’s not immediately clear how long the DA’s office has to complete the review.

Sutherland, 59, told cops he called for an Uber Black after having dinner with a friend on the evening of Jan. 11 and asked the driver to take him home.

At some point during the ride, Sutherland asked the driver to pull over and let him out, according to the driver. Sutherland then threatened to kill him if he didn’t pull over.

The driver then called 911 around 12:15 a.m. and told police he was assaulted by Sutherland near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.

Cops then determined Sutherland had physically assaulted and made criminal threats toward the driver.

He was arrested on felony charges of making a criminal threat and released on $50,000 bail.

The actor is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Feb. 2.
