Bears, Vikings, Rams, Jaguars dubbed potential landing spots for projected $50 million breakout cornerback

The Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, and Jacksonville Jaguars have been connected to a breakout starting cornerback in free agency this offseason.

After four years of barely seeing the field with the Dallas Cowboys and Vikings, Nahshon Wright blossomed into a key player in the Bears' secondary in 2025.

CBS Sports' Zachary Pereles believes Minnesota, Los Angeles, and Jacksonville will have interest in Wright this spring.

However, Pereles adds that he believes Wright will stay in Chicago, the place where he made a name for himself:

Wright's breakout season in 2025 included five interceptions and 11 passes defended in 16 starts. The Oregon State product also tallied 27 defensive stops.

Bringing back Wright would be a solid move from the Bears, as the 27-year-old could reprise his starting role as one of Chicago's boundary corners.

However, Wright will have options if he hits the free agency market. The Rams and Vikings must add to their secondarys that were major weaknesses in 2025, and the Jaguars could also look to upgrade their cornerback room, which was lackluster this year outside of Jarrian Jones.

Signing with Los Angeles or a reunion with Minnesota makes sense for Wright, and don't count out Jacksonville with ascending defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile, who could elevate the budding star corner's game to the next level.

Spotrac projects Wright will land a deal worth $50 million over three seasons, with an average annual value of $16.7 million. That is a hefty price for a player with just one year of full-time starting experience under his belt, but a team will likely make Wright a very rich man this offseason to serve as one of their starting quarterbacks.
