Ketel One titans ask $30M for Florida condo after $7M renovation — with $750K bathroom tiles and a panic room with ocean views

A rare and well-rounded shot of high-proof property is on the market in Miami Beach’s seductive Sunny Isles ‘hood.

Janet and Carl Nolet, the 11th-generation owners of the Dutch distilling dynasty behind Ketel One vodka, have listed their “sky villa” at the tony Turnberry Ocean Club for $29.75 million. That’s down from the $32 million the couple had initially been toasting to.

And here’s the twist: This massive 11,300-square-foot, five-bed, seven-bath (plus staff quarters) spread isn’t any ordinary condo. Janet poured herself into the property.

What would have been four separate units on the 37th and 38th floors, she picked up pre-construction and got to work distilling her vision for intoxicating interiors.

She spent $7 million on top of the $16.1 million 2021 purchase price to upgrade every aspect of the home, including the guts. Eschewing an interior designer, this experienced homeowner made all the design decisions herself.

Closet door by Dior? Oui, oui. Chanel jacket-inspired wallpaper? Naturellement. The result is a cocktail of irreplaceable luxe amenities. (Janet did not respond to The Post’s requests for comment by press time).

“This was supposed to be their forever home so no expense was spared,” said Haydar Alchalaby of Compass, who’s listing the duplex alongside teammate Ivan Chorney. “Every piece of the property down to the studs and concrete was redesigned.”

To create absolute quiet, Janet installed triple insulation in the floors, wall and ceilings. But that doesn’t mean this residence can’t make some noise. Invisible speakers, as well as smart home tech, are mudded in throughout.

“When you speak to somebody in a condo, normally you kind of hear reverberations because the walls aren’t as sturdy,” said Alchalaby. “This property feels like a ground-level home, where when I speak to you the sound doesn’t move. This entire property could become a nightclub and nobody in the entire building would know.”

The 6,915-square-foot interior has 22-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and three ways to arrive by elevator — with two entrances on the main floor and another bay above. And all of those elevator foyers feature a wallpaper matched to a Chanel jacket.

“I saw it and I was like, ‘Man, I don’t know why but this kind of reminds me of my mom,’” said Alchalaby. “Then she showed me the jacket, and I was like, ‘Wow, she’s got so much character. She’s leaving a memento.’ I think it’s beautiful and that her design speaks to women.”

Other designer moments happen in the master suite where the door is by Baccarat. In case you haven’t already caught on, Janet was friends with Karl Lagerfeld, as evidenced by the makeup chair he personally designed for her (although the brokers warn the piece is unlikely to be included in the sale). In the 1,000-square-foot walk-in closet, which has a door by Dior, a walk-in jewelry safe doubles as a panic room. Should the future owner ever be forced to reenact a certain 2002 Jodi Foster flick, they needn’t be glum — even here, there’s a window with ocean views.

The master bath is even splashier with $750,000 worth of ivory onyx tile and a $20,000 Toto zero-gravity tub — which, for those not in the know, use strategic jets to create a floating sensation. Obviously the toilet is also loaded with Toto’s Japanese tech.

Outside, the condo is wrapped by a 4,000-square-foot loggia featuring a pool with a lap generator, a Jacuzzi (with south-facing Downtown views) and a barbeque. To block out wind and rain, the glass railings were upgraded from 4 to 6 feet, while coral stone tiles add luster under foot.

“It’s basically impossible to replicate it at this point,” said Chorney. “It’s the sheer weight of the tile. Buildings don’t allow you to do that for a single unit.”

Downstairs, mixed into the 150-ish-unit building’s extensive suit of services, the Nolets are also selling a beach cabana, worth $1.5 million, and six parking spaces — two of which are air-conditioned — with the unit. The buyer also gets access to membership at the Turnberry Isle Country Club — with two championship golf courses, tennis facilities and the Tidal Cove Waterpark. Owners can also access yacht docks at the Turnberry Marina and VIP private jet services with Fontainebleau Aviation at the Opa-Locka Executive Airport.

Better still, the building’s amenity floor and gym are located three floors beneath the unit and can be accessed by a stairwell for extra privacy after a sweaty workout.

So why give all that up?

“They’re moving a lot as their lifestyle shifts,” said Alchalaby. “They’re moving from Europe to the Midwest to California and down to St Barts. This property is just being used for the children’s executive meetings for their new brand.”

Think that’s final call? No way. Back at the built-in bar in the massive open-floor living space there’s one last very apropos amenity — a chiller that takes a martini glass to ice-cold temperatures in seconds.

“This is really up there amongst the top 20 most unique properties in all of Miami,” says Chorney. “I’ve never seen something built out to this level of quality and finish. It’s really a unique and spectacular unit.”
