Former WWE Superstar Karrion Kross was released from the company back in August 2025. The 40-year-old was let go after fighting his final match at the 2025 SummerSlam against Sami Zayn despite the momentum of the ‘We Want Kross’ movement on social media. Now, the wrestler has come forward to talk about the role of Triple H during his time in the promotion.

During an interview with Fightful Select, he shed light on the way bookings work in the company. He said that things on the main roster aren’t the same as NXT. He noted that HHH has a lot of things he has to manage on the main roster that people don't know about.

Karrion Kross also pointed out that while he had all his stats and metrics available to discuss with the company, he was surprised that other wrestlers didn’t do this practice to negotiate future deals. Notably, Kross had turned down a re-signing deal from the company, as the new contract was quite underwhelming, according to him. Now, he is wrestling in the indies.

This could possibly be the reason why Kross never got a decent push on the main roster despite winning the NXT Championship twice.

Karrion Kross had to convince everyone that he wasn’t working for WWE anymore

The interview also brought to light Kross’ experience with promoters and promotions following his release. He said that a lot of people were hesitant to approach him with offers since they believed that he was still under a WWE contract and that his exit was scripted.

It wasn’t until the 40-year-old cleared the air with everyone that they believed that he had actually parted ways with the company. Kross even clarified the situation of his release and clarified that he wasn’t putting up an act at The Ariel Helwani Show.

Karrion Kross also stated that he was, in fact, not in any contact with the Stamford-based promotion whatsoever. The former Final Testament leader credited WWE for helping him with the launch of his book, Life is Fighting. However, he noted that he didn’t have any communication with anybody in the company post-release.
