Darryn Peterson did whatever he wanted in his college basketball debut for the Kansas Jayhawks.
Sure, it was just a matchup with lowly Wisconsin-Green Bay, but no matter. Peterson was only going to get one Division I regular season debut, and this was it, and he didn't disappoint.
Playing in front of his own fans, Peterson wowed. From an early 3-pointer to an assist over the top of the defense 50 feet down the floor to a dunk, Peterson had everyone excited early.
And he didn't really slow down until he got to take the closing stages of the night off in a blowout win.
Peterson ended up with 21 points in 21 minutes.

Check out some highlights, too:
— NBACentral (@TheDunkCentral) November 4, 2025Peterson is one of the big three freshmen in the country. He's joined by BYU's AJ Dybantsa and Duke's Cameron Boozer in that category.
It might be the best freshman class in the history of college basketball. There's so much talent at the top and depth as you go down the list.
But Peterson is one of the guys leading this group. Along with Dybantsa and Boozer, they very well could be the top-three picks in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Peterson has a whole season to go to impress everyone. So far, so good.
