Justin Thomas offers a glimpse of “lefty swing from 2019"
Away from the field, Justin Thomas has shared an old video of his golf swing on Instagram. Last week, he shared a practice session swing from 2019 with a caption:
"Little throwback I recently found… A lefty swing from 2019. I think I like some of these positions more than my actual swing"Justin Thomas had a fantastic time playing in 2025 on the PGA Tour, but he has been away from the greens since his last outing at the Procore Championship. He announced last month that he had microdiscectomy surgery and said that he would miss a few tournaments in the beginning of the 2026 season. He wrote in a post on Instagram:
"Before you ask, I’m not putting any tournament on the calendar or specific time for returning. While I will miss some events in the beginning of 2026, I want to be very smart and patient in letting my disc fully heal so it isn’t an issue again. I’m very lucky that the game of golf allows us to play at a high level for a long time, and that’s what I plan on doing - this procedure will allow me to do that injury free in the future. Can’t wait to see y’all back out there."
Justin Thomas/@justinthomas34He provided an update on his recovery earlier this month by replying to a fan on his X account. He said that he is “still a bit away from hitting any ball.”
This season on the PGA Tour, Thomas has won the RBC Heritage, while he was the runner-up at The American Express, Valspar Championship, and Truist Championship.
The 2026 PGA Tour season is scheduled to start on January 15 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, and it would be interesting to see when Thomas will return to the greens.
