The 2025 season was quite different for the Tampa Bay Rays and their fanbase. Instead of having their home games at Tropicana Field, the team had to move to Steinbrenner Field after Hurricane Milton wreaked havoc at the dome.
Add to this that they were not expected to be contenders last year, and there was not much to talk about here. However, they got some serious offense from Junior Caminero.
Caminero's bat was hot all season long as he finished with a career high 45 home runs, which ranked him sixth across MLB. Now, he will look to continue to be a power presence in 2026.

Junior Caminero faces a massive 40-homer test in a new home stadium
The Rays will be returning to Tropicana Field for the 2026 season. And with this, Caminero could take a step back.
Tropicana is not known for being a hitter-friendly park, mainly due to the fact of a poor batter's eye and no help from wind in the fixed-roof dome.
Despite the concerns with moving back to The Trop, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter has faith that Caminero can continue his power surge into the new season.
"Caminero went from promising young hitter to face of the franchise last season with a 45-homer, 110 RBI campaign in the middle of the Rays lineup. While he had some drastic home and road splits, his power played everywhere. The move back to Tropicana Field from Steinbrenner Field could lead to some regression, but the 40-homer power is real."
While some regression is to be expected, it may not be much. Caminero can play to all sides of the field. He can rocket one out to right field and come up the next at-bat and take one opposite field to left.
Don't be surprised if Caminero puts his hat in the home run leaderboard once again.
