Journalist reveals favorite to replace Enzo Maresca at Chelsea amid latter's exit rumors

English football journalist Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that Liam Rosenior is the favorite to replace Enzo Maresca as Chelsea's head coach. He also revealed that the Blues have been impressed with Rosenior's managerial performance at Strasbourg.

Kaveh spoke about Maresca's future as the head coach in a recent interview. He went on to claim that the 2025 Club World Cup champions have identified their preferred candidate to replace Maresca, saying (via CFCDaily):

“The favourite at the moment would be Liam Rosenior. He's inexperienced but manages Strasbourg… Some key people at Chelsea have been very impressed by the job he has done, but it would be a big risk.”

Enzo Maresca's future as the head coach has been a subject of speculation due to Chelsea's inconsistent results in recent weeks. He likewise didn't attend the post-match conference after their 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on the 30th of December 2025.

The aforementioned report added that the Premier League giants are working on the appointment of a new head coach following Maresca's exit. Meanwhile, the Premier League giants registered 55 wins in 92 games and won two trophies during Maresca's managerial reign at the club.
