Josh Allen to host Saturday Night Live? One cast member wants it

Josh Allen might have a career in television when it’s all said and done.

Preparing for a crucial AFC showdown with the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs at Orchard Park on Sunday, Allen’s name was thrown in the hat for potential Saturday Night Live hosts during a recent episode of You Herd on Bills.com.

Talking to actress and comedian Heidi Gardner, Bills reporter Maddy Glab asked the long-time cast member which NFL player she’d most like to see host the show in the future.

“I mean, I think we’d all want to work with Josh Allen, too. Loosen him up, get him giggly, that would be fun. He’s welcome any time,” Gardner said.

A cast member since 2017 and a long-time Chiefs fan born and raised in Kansas City, Gardner dialled into the show sporting a flamboyant red hoodie plastered with several images of Travis Kelce.

As for Allen, a potential hosting gig would see him join a long list of NFL players to host or at least feature on the show - including the Manning’s, Tom Brady, and Joe Montana.

Known for his laid-back personality and less-than-serious approach to life, Allen’s sense of humor would work well on SNL and give us more of a glimpse into the player underneath the helmet.

After sitting next to Allen recently on a lengthy flight, Gardner got the opportunity to speak with him briefly.

“I think it was a 3.5-hour flight, and I think it took me 3.5 hours to build up the courage to even know what to say to him. This is someone, I watch the Bills when they’re on. I love good football, and this is someone that has given so much to the game,” Gardner said.

“By the end of the flight, I was like, thank you for everything you do on Sunday’s, and he was very nice.”
