Josele Ballester shares emotional moment after winning the PIF Saudi International

Josele Ballester claimed his first professional win on Saturday at the PIF Saudi International powered by Softbank. The LIV Golf newcomer shot a 6-under 65 in the final round at Riyadh Golf Club and closed the week at 22 under, finishing three shots ahead of Caleb Surratt.

Josele Ballester admitted the moment meant a lot to him, especially so early into his professional career.

“It’s been everything. Like, at the end of the day, being a young boy dreaming about this moment, winning your first professional [tournament]. This is why I worked so hard every day. It’s been really cool to finally get this done. It’s going to make me keep working even harder to accomplish all the things I have,” Josele Ballester said.

Josele Ballester joined LIV Golf midway through the 2025 season and made only six starts for Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs GC. Despite the late arrival, Josele Ballester adapted quickly with a top-10 at LIV Golf UK followed by a runner-up finish in Chicago.

Josele Ballester was already seen as a promising player during his amateur days. He was a two-time All-American at Arizona State and won the 2023 European Amateur and the 2024 U.S. Amateur. His win in Riyadh now gives him the first professional title he had been working toward, and it comes in just his 10th start.
