Jordan Stolz is looking to make history on Saturday.

The American speed skater is going for a gold medal in the 500-meter speed skating event, which would be his second gold of the 2026 Winter Olympics. Stolz previously won gold after setting an Olympic record in the 1,000-meter speed skating event on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old Stolz is competing in his second Olympics this winter. In 2022, Stolz competed in both the 500-meter and 1,000-meter events as well but didn’t medal in either race, finishing outside the top 10 in both.

A win on Saturday would cement Stolz’s place in speed skating history and propel him into star status among Winter Olympians.

The Sporting News is tracking Jordan Stolz’s quest for gold in the 500-meter speed skating event. Follow along for updates from Milan-Cortina.
