The Travis Hunter two-way role with the Jacksonville Jaguars isn't ending.
But in the 2026 NFL season, the Jags plan to use their talented young star differently.
According to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, Hunter will be a full-time cornerback in 2026 and only a part-time wide receiver.
That actually does make quite a bit of sense. It's harder to come in and out of a game and get in a rhythm at corner, especially while guarding a top-tier receiver.
But as a wideout, you can spend some time on the sideline and still make plays while in the game for pass plays.
The Jaguars would have to avoid signaling that every time Hunter comes in, they're passing, but it could certainly lean in that direction to avoid his overall workload being too much.
Hunter missed the latter half of his rookie season with a right knee injury he sustained in a practice.

The No. 2 overall pick out of Colorado had made 28 catches for 298 yards and a touchdown as a wide receiver. As a cornerback, he had 15 tackles and three passes defensed.
It wasn't quite the impact that was hoped for from the Heisman Trophy winner, but he was also doing something no one had really attempted to this extent in the recent history of the NFL.
He's supposed to be at full strength for offseason activities, and the Jags will start to hone in on just how they can get the most out of Hunter.
