Jon Gosselin ‘could have died’ from terrifying medical emergency just weeks before wedding

Jon Gosselin revealed he suffered a serious medical emergency ahead of his wedding to Stephanie Lebo last November.

The former “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star said he was diagnosed with two bilateral pulmonary embolisms weeks before his wedding, after he felt intense pain in his leg that spread to his upper shoulder by the next day.

By the next night, he developed a coughing fit.

“I was like, ‘Something is wrong,”‘ he recalled to the Daily Mail. ‘I coughed up what looked like silly putty – it was a blood clot.”

Gosselin said that he drove himself to the hospital since it was after midnight and he didn’t want to wake anyone up. But he later learned that decision was a mistake that could have proven to be fatal.

“If you have deep-vein thrombosis you could die at the wheel,” he explained.

Gosselin, 48, is now taking a variety of medications — including heart meds, blood pressure meds, aspirin, and Eliquis, a prescription blood thinner that prevents blood clots — to treat his condition.

“I definitely could have died,” he shared. “If I had just stayed home that night, I could have had a real pulmonary embolism and just died.”

Jon shares sextuplets with his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, which aside from Collin and Hannah, includes Alexis, Aaeden, Leah and Joel. The exes also share twins Mady and Cara, 25.

Collin, who served as a groomsman at his father’s wedding, later addressed his siblings’ absence, telling Entertainment Tonight that “it would have been really nice to see” his other siblings besides Hannah at the wedding.

“I love them, and I hope they know that we would have loved to see them here,” he told the outlet. “I hope they understand how important marriage is and how happy it made me and Hannah to see our dad get married today.”

“My first thought was that he deserves this,” he added. “With everything he’s been through, it just highlighted it even more for me that he’s really deserving of this.”

Jon and Kate, 50, divorced in 2009 after 10 years of marriage.

She’s now dating her former bodyguard, Steve Neild, who Job and Collin both accused Kate of having an affair with.
