John Schneider confirms Blue Jays' Bo Bichette will return to lineup for Game 3 of World Series vs. Dodgers

The Toronto Blue Jays opened the World Series with a thrilling win in Game 1 in Toronto, but then Dodgers' pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto shut down Toronto's offense to take Game 2.

Now, the two teams are in Los Angeles for Games 3, 4 and 5 of the World Series.

The Blue Jays were without star shortstop Bo Bichette for the first two rounds of the playoffs, but he returned for the World Series. After playing a big factor in Game 1, Bichette sat out of Game 2. However, he'll be back for Game 3.

Schneider confirms Bichette will be in Game 3 lineup

When the Blue Jays announced their World Series roster, everyone was happy to see Bichette's name on it.

The young shortstop had been dealing with a left knee sprain that kept him out since early September, including the Blue Jays' first two rounds of the playoffs.

However, Bichette returned for Game 1 of the World Series and had a single and walk before being pinch-run for in the sixth inning.

But, the Blue Jays' star was held out of the Game 2 lineup, as that would have been back-to-back games after he'd hadn't played a game in more than a month.

However, Bichette did pinch-hit in Game 2 in the seventh inning, but it didn't spark any offense as Yamamoto threw a complete game gem.

But, Blue Jays' manager John Schneider confirmed on Sunday afternoon that Bichette will be the lineup and playing at second base in Game 3 against the Dodgers.

That's encouraging news for Blue Jays' fans as Bichette's a pivotal part of this team, both in the field and in the box. The question now is how many games he'll be able to play in Los Angeles, because Games 3, 4 and 5 will be back-to-back-to-back.

The Blue Jays need to win at least one game in Los Angeles to get the series back to Toronto for Game 6.

The Blue Jays will start veteran pitcher Max Scherzer in Game 3, and the Dodgers will have Tyler Glasnow on the mound. Game 3 gets underway at 5 p.m. from Dodgers Stadium.
