The Los Angeles Lakers are hoping to build on their momentum and take care of business against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night.
Thanks to a 49-point outing from Luka Doncic against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, the Lakers took control of the contest in the second half and steamrolled their 1-1 Western Conference foe 128-110.
However, according to the injury report for the Lakers’ upcoming intraconference regular-season clash, Doncic may not be on the hardwood.
Is Luka Doncic playing tonight vs. the Kings?
Doncic is listed as questionable for tonight’s contests with a left finger sprain.
The former Dallas Mavericks star suffered the injury against the Timberwolves, but managed to gut it out and impressively finish the game one point shy of a 50-burger.
If Los Angeles elects to sideline Doncic in an effort to give him the proper recovery time, fans should expect to witness the Austin Reaves show on Sunday.
Reaves is averaging 25.5 points, 10.0 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game to start the year, shooting 58.1% from the field and 30% from three.
Considering Reaves has already proven he can carry the load without Doncic and LeBron James by his side (he notched 45 points against the Indiana Pacers last year with Doncic and James nursing injuries), the Lakers would be in good hands if Doncic’s status worsens.
