Legendary commentator Jim Ross has caught eyeballs after stating that a WWE legend will never wrestle again.

Many would agree that the buck stops with Jim Ross when it comes to ranking the best commentators in pro-wrestling history. The veteran who is currently working with AEW attained his legendary status in WWE largely through his iconic partnership with the legendary wrestler and commentator Jerry Lawler. As of today, "The King," who transitioned from wrestling to commentary, is retired from both roles but remains signed with WWE under a legends contract. That said, the 76-year-old recently stated that he may still have one more match in him. Jim Ross recently addressed Lawler's comments, but, unfortunately for Lawler, his former partner didn't think he could pull it off.

Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Good Ol' JR applauded Lawler'spassion for the business, but stated that he doesn't see the match happening.

“He loves the business so much. It’s his whole life. After more than 50 years, he has a hard time separating himself from it. If he wants to have another match and he’s able to have another match, I’d support it. But honestly, I really don’t see it happening,” Ross said [H/T: Ringsidenews].

WWE legends Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler recently reunited outside their respective wrestling promotions

Despite not having called matches together for years, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler's friendship extends beyond the wrestling industry, and that was on display recently when the iconic duo reunited at a Meet n Greet event in Pittsburgh.

After the event, JR had taken to X to share a photo of the two with the following caption:

"It’s chilly in Pittsburgh but we’re hot ahere until 2 EST."

Check out JR's X post here.

Currently, Jim Ross is on a part-time schedule with AEW, and it will be interesting to see when we can see Good Ol' JR back on AEW programming.
