The 2025 season was a complete disaster for the New York Jets. While they traded away Quinnen Williams and Saucer Gardner for a ton in return, the rest of the year didn't go well.
They went 3-14, missing the first overall pick and the chance to draft Fernando Mendoza, and also finished the year without a single interception. Their leading receiver last caught a pass in October, and they had the worst five-game stretch in NFL history to close the year.
And now, deep into the offseason, the Jets have, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, fired a bunch of their coaching staff. These firings are a bad look for head coach Aaron Glenn, as the coaches he helped hire a year ago already are gone from the organization.
Jets coach firings are very bad look for Aaron Glenn
"Jets move on from several assistant coaches including Charles London, Eric Washington, Roosevelt Williams, Scott Turner, Aaron Curry, Alonso Escalante, per NFL sources," Wilson reported. DB coach Dre Bly was also fired by the Jets, according to Wilson.
While a ton of change is coming for the Jets, their offensive coordinator, Tanner Engstrad, is sticking with the team for 2026.
After the first year of Glenn's tenure in New York, the Jets have fired their defensive coordinator (Steve Wilks), defensive line coach (Washington), linebackers coach (Curry), QB coach (London), passing game coordinator (Turner), DB coach (Bly), and a defensive assistant (Escalante).

This is significant turnover for the Jets, and is a bad indictment of Glenn and the Jets. Making changes after one year isn't odd, but the extent of these changes is not a good sign.
Glenn's tenure in New York is off to a very poor start, and these staff changes don't bode well for his future with the team.
While making changes is a must, if this next crop of hirings isn't great and doesn't spark a turnaround, then the Jets might be forced to part ways with Glenn after next year.
Things aren't going well for the Jets, and these staff changes late into the offseason are proof of how poorly things have gone for the Jets recently.
