Jets expected to move on from brother of Quinnen Williams in free agency

The New York Jets have a few key free agents that they need to make decisions on. Alijah Vera-Tucker is one of the trickiest ones to figure out, as his injury struggles recently make him a big question mark.

Breece Hall, on the other hand, is sure to draw plenty of attention on the open market. With such a future in store for Hall, the Jets might just franchise tag him to ensure he doesn't leave.

But when it comes to the brother of Quinnen Williams, linebacker Quincy Williams, his future with the Jets looks to be decided. As ESPN's Rich Cimini notes, the Jets and Williams are expected to go their separate ways this offseason.

Jets expected to let Quincy Williams walk in free agency

"Williams, a five-year starter for the Jets who was first-team All-Pro in 2023, is likely to move on," Cimini writes.

The veteran linebacker has been with the Jets since the 2021 season, and got to play alongside his brother before Quinnen was shipped off to the Dallas Cowboys at the 2025 NFL trade deadline for a package the Jets couldn't refuse.

Now, the Jets are looking to move on from Quincy, though the circumstances of their split are a bit different from what they were with the superstar DT.

The older Williams' brother is set to hit free agency and depart after a shaky 2025 season, where he wasn't a fan of the scheme and made just 12 starts.

While the 30-year-old linebacker won't receive a lot of interest in free agency, especially following his rough season, a reunion with Robert Saleh in Tennessee or a trip to Dallas to reunite with his brother could be in store for Williams this offseason.

But, based on Cimini's report, it doesn't look like Williams will be returning to the Jets this offseason after his contract was voided after the 2025 NFL season.
