Jets draft pick Azareye'h Thomas trolls LeBron James in epic social media post

4 hours ago 1

The New York Jets have had a busy offseason and have already seen some significant movement in their cornerback room over the last two months that could greatly impact a unit that helped hold their opponents to jut 192.6 passing yards per season in 2024 (third-fewest in the NFL).

New general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn watched D.J. Reed and Brandin Echols sign with the Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers, respectively, and brought in Kris Boyd from the Houston Texans and Brandon Stephens from the Baltimore Ravens.

Jalen Mills and Kendall Sheffield, who played for the Jets in 2024, are also still unsigned and are still looking for their next opportunity.

New York added more talent to the room in the 2025 NFL draft when they selected Florida State cornerback Azareye'h Thomas in third round (No. 73 overall).

Fans may have to wait for Thomas to show out on the field, but the 20-year-old is already entertaining them on social media, as he recreated a famous LeBron James meme after the draft on his Instagram story.

Thomas spent the last three years at Florida State, earning Second-team All-AAC honors in 2023. He appeared in 37 games for the Seminoles, recording 95 tackles (nine for a loss), 15 passes defensed, two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and a half-sack.

New York's top cornerback, Sauce Gardner, is already one of the most prolific trolls on social media in the league. Now, it looks like he'll have some competition in his own position room.

Thomas will likely start his rookie season on the bench behind Gardner and the newly-signed Stephens. With his experience in the slot as well, he could slide in if Michael Carter II struggles or deals with an injury.

However, Thomas may be able to carve out a significant role for himself early on if he show up and shows out during training camp and the preseason.
