The New York Jets pulled off two blockbuster trades on NFL deadline day. Their first was a deal to send cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts for two first-round picks and Adonai Mitchell.
Not long after that blockbuster, the Jets sent All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys for a first and second-round pick and Mazi Smith.
But that blockbuster trade could've been a lot bigger. According to ESPN's Dan Graziano, the Jets discussed a trade with the Cowboys that would've sent Williams' brother, linebacker Quincy Williams, to Dallas in this trade.
The Jets discussed a trade of the Williams brothers to Dallas
"I heard at one point the Cowboys were talking to the Jets about a deal that would have sent Dallas both Williams brothers -- Quinnen and linebacker Quincy Williams." Graziano writes. "But that didn't work out, and the Cowboys pivoted to Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson."
The Jets did wind up sending the younger Williams brother, Quinnen, to Dallas in a blockbuster trade. But Quincy, who was named in trade speculation leading up to the deadline, wasn't dealt anywhere.

However, the day after the deadline, Quincy Williams revealed he had been benched, and he is now the backup linebacker in New York. As the Jets were looking to trade the veteran linebacker, they were also planning on benching him.
It could've been a fun storyline to see brothers traded in the same deal, let alone both being sent to a new team. The All-Pro brothers aren't on the same team for the first time since 2020, when Quincy was with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jets and Cowboys nearly made a very fun trade, but it fell through, and Dallas wound up only acquiring Quinnen to bolster their defensive line, while the Jets prepare for a huge rebuild by landing premium picks from Dallas.
