Jessica Pegula was surprised to learn that Emma Navarro was playing left-handed while appearing in the pro-am event at the RSM Classic on November 19. Navarro is a right-handed tennis player, actually.
On Friday, Navarro posted about her golf skills while on the course for the RSM Classic. She documented her entire experience playing golf, probably for the first time. Going through bunkers and lush green surroundings, Navarro was finally able to ball into hole for once. Overall, she liked the experience, as she captioned the video:
"my golf skills could use some work, but it was a blast being out there @thersmclassic"Under the comments section, Pegula expressed surprise seeing Navarro play lefty despite being a right-hander while playing tennis. She wrote:
"Lefty??"Several other comments expressed the same confusion as well:
Comments sectionEmma Navarro is targeting top-15 rankings to begin the next season. She will play in Auckland for the ASB Classic with fellow star Elina Svitolina. Then she'll return to her hometown to play the Credit One Charleston Open (March 28-April 5, 2026).
In 2025, Navarro won the 2025 Mérida Open (WTA 500) after defeating Emiliana Arango 6-0, 6-0 in the final. In Wimbledon, she defeated defending champion Barbora Krejčíková in the third round.
Emma Navarro gets candid on billionaire daughter status
Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro are both daughters of billionaires. Jessica is the daughter of Terry Pegula and Kim Pegula, who own the NFL's Buffalo Bills and NHL's Buffalo Sabres. On the other hand, Navarro is the daughter of Ben Navarro, the founder of Sherman Financial Group.
Earlier this year, she was interviewed by Tatler, where she reflected on what it's like to be labeled as "billionaire's daughter."
“I don’t love being referred to as whoever with however much money’s daughter. It’s a label I don’t really like,” she said “I didn’t grow up being handed things. We grew up in a sort of traditional way. We’d get up at 6 a.m. on a Saturday morning and go play tennis. Growing up it was a priority that we learnt toughness and we learnt work ethic.”Growing up, Navarro said, while her father Ben played a part in her tennis career, her mother Kelly proved to be "the rock of the family."
