Michael Porter Jr. may be known for having one of the greenest lights in the league, but on Friday night, he showed grit on the glass -- even outmuscling his own Brooklyn Nets teammate for a rebound, which drew reactions from fans.

During the first quarter of the Nets’ Emirates NBA Cup game against the Boston Celtics, Anfernee Simons attempted a 3-pointer but missed. Crashing in for the rebound were Porter and teammate Nic Claxton, a longtime Net now in the second year of his four-year, $97 million contract.

As the two teammates fought for the ball, Claxton shouted in a moment clearly audible on the broadcast:

With the NBA dealing with gambling controversies and scrutiny around player over/unders, some fans joked that Porter might have been thinking about his stat line. His brother, Jontay Porter, one of the players allegedly involved in gambling, received a lifetime ban from the NBA and faces federal charges tied to an alleged sports betting operation.

“Lmao bro gambling 😂,” one said. “Time to investigate lol,” another commented. “Taking all the shots and now the boards? Lol,” another said.

Here are other reactions.
