The Dallas Cowboys are hoping for something really good to happen this season. It's been a while. The last time the Cowboys were in the postseason was during the 2023 NFL season, so it's been a minute.
Last season, the Cowboys were 7-9, so respectable, but missed out on the postseason, again. That's the past, though, and now, it's time to prep for the future.
Owner and general manager Jerry Jones just got some good news about the upcoming season, though, in the form of a pretty awesome projection.
Moe Moton of Bleacher Report has released a piece projecting every NFL division's standings going into the new season. It's latest record prediction for each team by division, all 272 games.

For the Cowboys, he has them totally rebounding this season and landing at No. 1 in the NFC East. The difference? Defense. Dallas brought on a new defensive coordinator in Christian Parker. They also made big changes on defense.
"Dallas acquired edge-rusher Rashan Gary from the Green Bay Packers and drafted versatile defensive back Caleb Downs along with edge-rusher Malachi Lawrence in the first round," Moton notes. "Cornerback Cobie Durant, a free-agent acquisition, is an underrated signing."
He adds, "If linebacker DeMarvion Overshown stays healthy, the Cowboys' defense will be one of the most improved units from the previous campaign."
Quarterback Dak Prescott and the offense have never really been the question. It's the defense that has taken a hit. If the defense bounces back this season, it's certainly good news for Dallas.
