Jermaine Johnson shows interest as John Franklin-Myers linked to Jets amid uncertain future with Broncos

New York Jets defensive end Jermaine Johnson II appears to be interested in reuniting with John Franklin Myers. On Tuesday, Jets insider Harrison Glaser tweeted that Franklin-Myers is unlikely to get an extension from the Denver Broncos, which could see him become a free agent. Glaser also asked whether fans would like to see Franklin-Myers return to New York.

When Johnson caught a glimpse of Johnson's tweet about Franklin-Myers, he reacted with a side-eyes emoji.

Franklin-Myers was selected by the LA Rams in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL draft. He played one season with them before being cut.

In September 2019, the Jets claimed Franklin-Myers off waivers. He played five seasons with the Jets, two of them alongside Johnson.

In April 2024, the Jets traded Franklin-Myers to the Broncos. He signed a two-year, $15 million deal with Denver.

This season, Franklin-Myers has posted 18 tackles (nine solo), 4.5 sacks and three stuffs for Denver. The Broncos are currently leading the AFC West with an 8-2 record.

However, amid the uncertainty around Franklin-Myers' future in Denver, he could be an unrestricted free agent in 2026.

With his recent social media activity, Johnson appears to have nudged the Jets to bring back Franklin-Myers.

Jermaine Johnson II and the Jets (2-7) will square off against the New England Patriots (8-2) in Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season on Thursday night. The game will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The Jets recorded their second win of the season when they beat the Cleveland Browns in Week 10.

However, the Patriots will put up a much sterner challenge. New England is leading the AFC East and is on a seven-game winning run.
