Jack Roslovic scored his second straight overtime winner as the Edmonton Oilers took a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday. The Oilers forward scored af 1:19 in overtime giving the Oilers some much needed momentum with back to back wins.

Signed to a one-year $1.5 million contract by the Oilers, Roslovic has been a very important member of the team, scoring 11 points in 16 games in 17:13 average time on ice per game with a +5 rating. His Wednesday's goal came after Flyers defenseman Cam York slipped with the puck and Roslovic and Matt Savoie converted a 2-on-0 for the win.

"Jack has been a great addition to our team," head coach Kris Knoblauch said during his presser. "Five-on-five, power play, obviously overtime. And we wanted more speed. I don't think you can have enough speed in your lineup, and he helps with that, and also just some secondary scoring, and he has provided that. So, we're very fortunate to have him."

The Oilers dominated almost all of the first 40 minutes. Surviving two early chances for the Flyers, the Oilers got a 24-6 shot differential at the midway point of the game which brought out the boos from the home crowd at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Philadelphia broke an 16-shot streak from the Oilers at 11:17 in the second period.

"We were playing great," Roslovic said. "They're a stingy defensive team, but I think we did a good job of staying patient and playing well defensively. For the second period, we dominated in their zone, so it's good to stack some wins."

Matvei Michkov tied the game at 1-1 with a power play goal at 15:38 in the period. After a scoreless third period, which was mostly dominated by the Flyers, Roslovic broke the tie with his tenth point in his last nine games and second straight OT goal after his winner against the Blue Jackets on Monday.

Kris Knoblauch satisfied with Oilers' approach to the game

The two straight wins have slightly fixed Oilers' poor start to the season. Knoblauch was impressed by his team's patience during the game, hanging in to fight for the win when the Flyers seemed on top.

"Well, we knew going in that we were going to have to be patient just because Philadelphia is one of the best defensive teams," Knoblauch said. "They don't give up very much, and if you fall in the trap and expect a bunch of scoring chances, you force things, and that's where they're going to capitalize and go the other way. "So, we need to be focused, patient, and not be forcing things. And obviously, they had some good scoring chances, but overall, I thought our guys did a pretty good job."

The game at Philadelphia will kick start an important 11-day road stretch for the Oilers. They currently have 20 points and sit 3rd in the Pacific Division.
