Ward Burton, the father of Jeb Burton and former NASCAR driver, has once again blended his love for nature and firearms in a way only he can.
On Sunday, November 16, Ward took to Instagram to show off his newest piece of equipment: a Beretta BRX1 hunting rifle, chambered in 6.5 mm. And true to his enthusiastic outdoors spirit, the former Daytona 500 winner shared the post with a caption that captured his excitement perfectly.
“Got the 6.5 ready to rip! This is the new BRX1 by BERETTA!” Ward wrote, posing with the rifle in a classic Burton-family countryside setting. For fans who have followed the Burton family over the years, the sight of Ward showcasing a new hunting rifle is as fitting as watching him break down race strategy or track conditions.
NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series driver Jeb Burton, who often joins his father in hunting and conservation work, has proudly carried forward the family’s tradition in both racing and the outdoors. While his career in NASCAR continues evolving, the father-son duo remains closely connected through their shared love of wildlife and outdoor sportsmanship.
Ward Burton’s NASCAR career included 5 Cup Series wins, most notably the 2001 Southern 500 and the 2002 Daytona 500. He had 82 top-10 finishes, 24 top-5 finishes, and seven poles in the Cup Series in 375 starts, with his best season finish in 1999, finishing ninth in the final championship standings. He also made 161 starts in the NASCAR's second-tier series and earned four wins and 50 top-10 finishes.
