Sunkissed by Heaven/New York Post Composite
It’s been over five years since Jay Alvarrez had the internet slipping over a steamy coconut oil scandal.
Coconut oil, generally used for skincare and everyday household needs, was taking over feeds after an explicit video went viral, allegedly featuring Alvarrez, the ex-boyfriend of model Alexis Ren. In the aftermath, TikTokers began debating what can and should be put around — and in — their bodies.
Now, Alvarrez has a new recommendation: his beef tallow skincare line. The brand, Sunkissed by Heaven, seems like a natural next step for the internet personality and filmmaker, who is known for his globe-trotting adventures, frolicking on exotic beaches and leaping out of airplanes.
“I’ve always lived in the sun, and I wanted to create something raw, simple, and to the point — without the chemicals or confusing additives,” Alvarrez shared on the company’s website. “Sunkissed was made to be effortless and effective.”
His line currently includes a 50-SPF sunscreen and a moisturizer, made with ultra-pure, “edible-grade” ingredients including beef tallow, jojoba, beeswax and raw honey. And, the formulas seem to be working: reviewers are saying they actually want to lather these balms on their bodies.
“My skin was instantly happy when I put it on,” one reviewer shared.” I was glowing when I woke up the next morning. It soaks in well, so I’m not getting grease stains on my pillow at night.”
Jay Alvarrez Beef Tallow Moisturizer
AmazonThe key ingredient is grass-fed beef tallow, which is purified cow fat that is naturally rich in saturated fats. Research suggests that beef tallow can help support the skin’s fatty acid levels while providing hydrating and moisturizing benefits for the skin barrier.
Another user said the tallow cream took them from a “crispy surf gremlin” to “calm, hydrated, and alive again,” adding, ‘If this can save my skin after sun, saltwater, and bad decisions, it’s a win.’”
The sunscreen has already sold out on Amazon, but the moisturizer is still available, and the Sunkissed by Heaven site teases that more products are coming soon.
