Jaxson Dart’s Giants task isn’t going to get any easier — or any potential help

Do it for Jaxson!

Of course that is what everyone who cares about the Giants wants right now. The belief and adoration for the rookie quarterback is growing with each game, even if those games are losses, because of the way he plays, comports himself and puts on display a fun but no-nonsense demeanor that is going to eventually create an overwhelming desire to make sure no one lets him down.

Do everything possible to help the kid out and, given the state of the wide receiver room, it sure would benefit this 22-year old if the front office were able to trade for someone who can get open and catch the ball when it is thrown his way. There are no season savers out there, and the bar would only be this: A definite upgrade from Lil’Jordan Humphrey, Beaux Collins and fading Jalin Hyatt. Someone who could slide in with Wan’Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton and give Dart and the passing attack at least a bit more firepower — especially now that there will be no more bruising, inspired play from rookie running back Cam Skattebo until 2026.

This all sounds wonderful and is probably not going to happen. There are probably 10 teams out there either in or on the fringe of playoff contention that might be interested in taking the dive into the trade waters for another pass catcher. The Giants at 2-6 are not on the fringe of anything, and so bringing in a receiver would be all about helping Dart and not about saving this season.
