New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart addressed growing speculation about the franchise potentially selecting another quarterback in the 2026 NFL draft.
The discussion gained traction after NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the Giants would “fully evaluate every option” if they land the No. 1 pick. Heisman Trophy winner and Indiana standout Fernando Mendoza is the most popular pick, even with Dart already on the roster.
Following New York’s 34-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, Dart was asked if he saw the report.

Dart remains confident about his position and looks forward to a long-term future with the team.
"I'm going to continue to play my ball," Dart said. "I know I'm going to be here for a very long time. I'm excited to start winning more games and turn this place around, do my job. We have a bright future. I was standing on the sideline, watching Abdul (Carter) ball, watching (Darius Alexander) D.A. ball, (Cam Skettebo) Skatt was here today, when you think about this rookie class, we have a really bright future and we're going to be a really big pivot and turn this thing around."Despite the win snapping a nine-game losing streak, the Giants (3-13) dropped to No. 2 in the draft order behind the Raiders (2-14). New York could still get the No. 1 pick with a Week 18 loss to Dallas and a Las Vegas win over Kansas City.
Jaxson Dart continues rookie surge in Giants’ Week 17 win
Jaxson Dart delivered another excellent performance in the New York Giants’ 34-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 17. Dart completed 22 of 30 passes for 207 yards. He also added 48 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns on nine carries.
He scored on a 12-yard run in the second quarter and a 2-yard run late in the game. Dart has nine rushing touchdowns this season, setting a franchise record for a Giants quarterback. He passed Daniel Jones, who had seven in 2022.
Dart has the third-most rushing touchdowns by a rookie quarterback in NFL history, trailing only Billy Kilmer and Cam Newton.
