Jauan Jennings still wants a trade or an extension, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He reportedly remains dissatisfied with the $7.5 million he's set to earn with the San Francisco 49ers this season.

The wide receiver is having a difficult start to the campaign. He's just fifth on the team with just 253 receiving yards in seven games, despite having a career year in 2024.

Let's look at five teams that could make a trade offer to the 49ers for Jennings before the trade deadline.

Five potential landing spots for Jauan Jennings before the NFL trade deadline

1) New York Giants

The Giants have surfaced as a possible destination for Jauan Jennings as they've been linked to a potential trade for a wide receiver.

With Malik Nabers as the WR1 and Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton behind him, their receiving corps was decent at the beginning of the season. Jalen Hyatt and a group of unproven players completed the depth chart, so the department was still limited at the time.

Nabers is out for the remainder of the season due to an ACL tear, leaving the receiver room thinner and lacking a star pass-catcher. Jennings will likely be among the Giants' possible targets ahead of the trade deadline.

Adding Jennings has immediate and long-term appeal as he's a physical powerhouse. If he signs with New York this offseason, he'll get plenty of targets and a chance to make a convincing case for a big extension.

2) Cleveland Browns

The Browns offense has struggled this season. The unit hasn't scored more than 20 points except for Week 7 versus the Miami Dolphins.

The team's ground game has been respectable thanks to Quinshon Judkins, but its passing offense has been disappointing. Jerry Jeudy was considered the Browns' top receiver heading into the season. However, his poor output and high drop rate have made him arguably the team's most disappointing player.

To strengthen their receiving corps, the Browns may look to sign Jennings. He might end up being the perfect No. 2 receiver in Cleveland's offense. He could also establish a strong connection with Dillon Gabriel due to his aggressive route running abilities.

3) Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers offense has benefited from tight end Pat Freiermuth's solid performance this season, but the team still needs more output from its pass-catchers. The team's next top catchers, aside from DK Metcalf, are Freiermuth and running back Jaylen Warren.

Jennings is a player who makes sense for Pittsburgh's offensive scheme. His excellent route running, constant presence on third down and role as an additional body in the run game would be key.

4) LA Chargers

Given the Chargers' shaky receiving group, Jauan Jennings might be a solid target. The team's top pass-catcher is Ladd McConkey but there is room for improvement among the secondary receivers.

LA will likely look for a receiver ahead of the trade deadline given the unpredictability of Keenan Allen, Quentin Johnston and Tre Harris.

The Chargers are a historically cautious team, and that is not expected to change should they negotiate for Jennings.

5) Buffalo Bills

It makes sense for the Buffalo Bills to call the San Francisco 49ers and inquire about Jauan Jennings since they need additional wide receiver help.

The Bills have limited options at wideout. Although Khalil Shakir has been their most promising receiver, his career-high of 821 yards from reception barely qualifies him as a reliable long-term option.

Although he has not completely proven himself, Jennings operated as the 49ers' primary wide receiver in 2024. He finished as their second-most productive pass-catcher, trailing only tight end George Kittle.
