Jasson Dominguez fueled the New York Yankees' 10-2 victory over the Athletics on Friday night while making some franchise history.
Formerly the Yankees top prospect entering the season, Dominguez crushed three home runs in the road win over the Athletics, becoming the youngest player in franchise history to achieve the feat.
At 22 years and 91 days old, Dominguez took that achievement from Joe DiMaggio, who previously set the record at 22 years and 200 days old, according to Stathead.
Dominguez got his night started in the top of the second inning when he crushed a solo home run, going back-to-back with Paul Goldschmidt.
He then followed that up with another solo shot from the right side of the plate, hammering a hanging curveball to left-center in the top of the seventh inning.
The big blast came in the top of the eighth when Domginuez hammered a 1-2 fastball for a grand slam to give the Yankees a 10-0 lead.
Nicknamed "The Martain" by general manager Brian Cashman, the Yankees fanbase has been waiting for Dominguez to make an impact at the MLB level.
In 32 games this season, the switch-hitting phenom is slashing .250/.339/.463/.802 with five home runs and 19 RBI.
