The New York Yankees still have hopes for outfielder Jasson Dominguez despite the former top prospect starting the season in the minor leagues, but his latest opportunity to prove himself in pinstripes was put on hold Thursday.
Dominguez left the Yankees' game against the Texas Rangers on a cart after a hard collision with the outfield wall after making an impressive catch.
The 23-year-old didn't make the Yankees' roster out of spring training, but struggles by Randal Grichuk and an IL stint for Giancarlo Stanton helped clear the way for some at-bats for the young outfielder.
Here's the latest on Dominguez's status after he was carted off.

Jasson Dominguez injury update
Dominguez made a terrific catch against the wall on a deep drive by Brandon Nimmo, but his upper body hit hard against the wall and left him in pain on the warning track for an extended period after coming down with the ball.
The force of the collision was enough to knock Dominguez's hat and sunglasses off his head.

The Yankees brought a cart out for Dominguez, but he was able to walk to it under his own power and sit upright as he was taken off the field.
Dominguez's exit forced the Yankees to reshuffle their lineup, with Cody Bellinger and Amed Rosario moving around and Ryan McMahon entering the game at third base.
