The beauty world is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Jasen Kaplan—a celebrity makeup artist who’s worked with Eva Longoria, Bethenny Frankel, Kelly Osbourne and more—has died, multiple outlets have confirmed. He was 46.

Shortly after the news of his death, many of Kaplan’s longtime clients remembered their favorite moments sitting in his glam chair. Bethenny—who recently teamed up with the creative on several of her campaigns last summer—described him as not only her “makeup artist, but also my friend and a constant part of my team.”

“Jasen Kaplan had a positive energy that was truly infectious,” she captioned her Dec. 1 Instagram tribute. “He was fun, vibrant, and always brought his A game. The world lost a one-of-a-kind gem on New Year’s Eve, which still doesn’t feel real. Jasen was magnetic, generous, endlessly supportive, and always sharing his latest finds—food, products, people.”

The Real Housewives of New York City alum continued, “You will always be on the B Team, for life and the afterlife. No one is going to have better glam than I do in heaven. Rest in peace, and enjoy all the caviar and coconut cake.”

Jasen first gained recognition in 2005, when he worked with model Brittny Gastineau and her mom Lisa Gastineau on their E! reality show Gastineau Girls that year. He stepped back into the reality TV world over a decade later, briefly appearing as a contestant on Logo’s dating series Finding Prince Charming in 2016.

But beyond showing his life onscreen, he often showcased his work with clients like Tinsley Mortimer, Tori Spelling and Kelly on social media.

And true to their years-long friendship, the Osbournes alum echoed Bethenny’s grief on her own Instagram Stories. There, she created a compilation photo of her and Kaplan’s sweetest memories over the years.

“I’m devastated. I love you so much,” she wrote. “Thank you for all the love, laughter, and joy you brought to my life. I hope you are at peace now. Life will never be the same without you! RIP my dear friend.”

She added of their bond, “You were the best Wing man a girl could ask for. 25 years of friendship and make every second worth it.”
