Jalen Hurts landed in the NFL Pro Bowl as a replacement for Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.
For Hurts, it’s his third Pro Bowl since entering the NFL. He earned the honor for the first time in 2022 after his first full season as a starter.
The 2022 season for Hurts was the first time he made the Super Bowl as well. He was one of the top players in the game that year, coming second in the NFL MVP race. Although the Eagles were crowned NFC Champions, Hurts and the team couldn’t come out on top against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
In the following year, Hurts made the Pro Bowl for the second time in his career. However, there wasn’t a return to the Super Bowl. The Eagles ended up dropping out in the Wild Card round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After the 2024 regular season, Hurts missed the mark to be named a Pro Bowler for the third year in a row. In the end, it didn’t matter much. Hurts got something even better. The Eagles won the NFC Championship before getting their revenge against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Hurts was the game’s MVP.
This year, the Eagles continued the same pattern. They made it to the playoffs after going to the Super Bowl, but dropped out of the first round. The Eagles were upset by the San Francisco 49ers at home. Hurts is all smiles at the Pro Bowl, where he’s preparing to play with the best of them, but he sent a clear message about next season when it comes to the Pro Bowl-Super Bowl conversation.
“Man, I’d love for the pattern to repeat itself,” Hurts said on Monday. “It takes a lot of work and a lot of time, but we’re enjoying this time right now before we even get to that point.”
The Eagles’ offense has a lot of pressure placed on them for next season. They were by far the biggest issue with the team throughout the 2025 run, which led to some changes up top. Kevin Patullo was let go after one season, leading the Eagles to hire Sean Mannion as a first-time coordinator out of Green Bay.
The roster is talented, and Hurts has proven that he can put together a Pro Bowl campaign and win at the highest level. They just have to figure out how to get back on track next September.
