Jake Paul is backing the boys in red, white and blue.
The influencer has placed a big bet on the United States to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Given that the USMNT is longshots, Paul is putting a sizable wager down but could get huge winnings if the U.S. pulled off the unthinkable.
Paul shared, via TMZ, that he used Polymarket to take a position on a U.S. World Cup win.
The odds given to Paul were plus-5636.
He put down $32,489.98. If that seems like a random number, it's not.
The reason? He would win $1.776 million.
As in, 1776, the Declaration of Independence, the United States of America.

"I am actually nervous," Paul said, via TMZ.
It's fair for him to be nervous. The U.S. isn't considered even close to being a favorite to win this tournament.
As one of the co-hosts, the USMNT got a relatively favorable group, which also features Paraguay, Turkiye and Australia. The United States is the favorite to win its group, and given the other teams there, it'd be a nightmare if the U.S. didn't at least seize a spot to advance to the knockout stage.

But in this newly expanded 48-team World Cup, the first knockout round is the Round of 32. So for the United States to survive the entire elimination tournament, they'd have to win five win-or-go-home matches in a row.
Paul is going for the big payday. It's going to take quite the story to make it happen.
