Jake Paul-Anthony Joshua fight viewership: How heavyweight bout compares to Canelo-Crawford, other Netflix boxing events

1 hour ago 1

For the second time in a year, Jake Paul was a significant draw for Netflix.

In November 2024, the YouTuber-turned-boxing star put on a massive show by landing a fight against boxing legend Mike Tyson, despite a significant age difference and Tyson having rarely fought for decades. While that fight ended well for Paul, his most recent bout resulted in a knockout and a broken jaw.

Paul lost to Anthony Joshua on Dec. 19, yet another Netflix boxing event that gathered millions of viewers.

Here's how the Paul-Joshua viewership compared to other top Netflix fights since the streaming service got involved with boxing.

How Paul-Joshua compares to other Netflix fights

The 33 million global viewers for Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua is a massive number, but it's also not quite what Netflix was able to draw for its other two highly-anticipated men's boxing events in the past year.

When Paul fought Mike Tyson in November 2024, the fight peaked at 65 million concurrent streams watching around the world, per Netflix, with 38 million concurrent streams in the United States and 108 million viewers in total around the world. That made it the most-streamed sporting event ever at the time. The co-main event for Paul-Tyson, Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 2, also had an estimated 74 million viewers globally.

More recently, in September 2025, when Canelo Alvarez took on Terence Crawford, Netflix's broadcast of the event had over 41 million viewers, per ESPN, with a peak at over 24 million concurrent streams.

Netflix's other major boxing event was Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 in July 2025. That event drew nearly six million viewers around the world, including the main event drawing an average-minute audience of 4.2 million, making it the most-watched professional women’s sports event of 2025, per Netflix.

Here's a breakdown of total global viewership for each of Netflix's major boxing events:

  • Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson (November 2024): 108 million
  • Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford (September 2025): 41.4 million
  • Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua (December 2025): 33 million
