Jaguars reveal that they let the Bills score the game-winning points in Wild Card playoff game

It made perfect sense for the Jacksonville Jaguars to let the Buffalo Bills score.

It was one of those rare situations in which that is true. But in the end, it turns out the game-winning score was just let easily into the end zone by the Jags.

The Jaguars led the Bills, 24-20, with about a minute left. It was first-and-goal. Jacksonville had just used its last timeout.

If the Jags played for the stop, they'd need to stop four plays in a row. And if they didn't, they might get the ball back with just 10 or 20 seconds left.

Instead, they chose to give themselves a minute.

They let Josh Allen run it in. The extra point made it 27-24 Bills.

The Jaguars had enough time to get into field goal range for Cam Little, but instead, Trevor Lawrence threw a tipped ball that got picked, and the Bills kneeled the game out.

After the game, the Jaguars revealed that they had indeed let Buffalo score.

"We decided to freeway it, let them score," head coach Liam Coen told reporters.

The logic is such that any other team would've done it, too.

It's just a depressing reality that the score you allow to end your season was allowed totally intentionally.

Process, good. Result, disappointing.
