WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi is one of the greatest professional wrestlers from the Samoan lineage, and now his sons, The Usos and Solo Sikoa, are carrying his legacy forward in the Stamford-based promotion. The Samoan Stinker recently shared an update on his health after undergoing a medical procedure.
During the latest episode of his Off the Top podcast, the 60-year-old legend was asked about his health by his co-host, as he has recently undergone emergency surgery. Although the icon refused to reveal all the details, he said that he had a six-hour surgery, and when he woke up, he felt like a completely new person. It was caught just in time.
"I am great, I am great. You know I am not going to go into details about everything, about you know what happened and so forth, but you know me, like one thing that I would never do is ever miss a booking. I have for many years, that's just no-no for big keys. But, for me to be down, it was an emergency type surgery, and I am going to leave it like that. It took about six hours to be able to be on the knife, and you know, I woke up feeling great," he said.He continued:
"I just feel like a new person and at the end of the day it's kind one of those thigs where when you don't get checked the normal duties of youself to be able to go you know check up with your doctors and make sure you get all a to z and I am one of those guys who hate to go to the hospital and it was one those thing which was caught just in time."Rikishi's sons might start a feud in WWE
For weeks, the Stamford-based promotion has been fueling tensions between Jimmy and Jey Uso. Things escalated the most when The YEET Master captured a big win on the October 20 episode of Monday Night RAW, winning the Battle Royal by eliminating his own brother Big Jim along with LA Knight from behind.
Jey faced CM Punk at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event XLI for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship. While both stars put on a classic match, The Best in the World emerged as the better man and was crowned the new champion.
Now, Punk is all set to begin a new journey as WWE RAW's main champion. Meanwhile, Jey Uso might renew his Bloodline storyline and could soon begin a rivalry with Big Jim, considering their recent tensions.
It will be interesting to see what plans the company has in store for the former WWE champion.
