"'It’s comical watching this guy, celebrates for an 8 yard run on 3rd down, then he completely misses his receiver on 4th. And now he throws a pick, I love it," a fan wrote.

"Sanders thought he saw an open man, Sawyer reminded him he’s a rookie for a reason," a fan commented. "Dawg Shedeur got the slowest throw motion in history no wonder that shit got picked," another fan wrote.

Other defended Cleveland's rookie quarterback.

"Wasn’t even Shedeur fault, this was good defensive awareness," a fan tweeted. "68 couldn’t block for 2 secs 🤦🏿‍♂️😭😭😭," one fan said. "yee this happens abit to much .. its unfortunate But can't be getting the ball swatted too much.. something mechanically needs to change," another fan said.

Sawyer capitalized on Sanders' pass that was tipped. The pick marked one of the few missteps for the quarterback on the day. It contrasted with his earlier success, including a 28-yard touchdown pass to fellow rookie Harold Fannin Jr. that gave the Browns an early lead.

Tony Romo on what Shedeur Sanders must show to become Browns’ QB

Cleveland’s final games this season are likely an evaluation period for Shedeur Sanders, and Cowboys legend Tony Romo believes the margin is thin. He emphasized that Sanders must consistently show creativity and control to secure the Browns' long-term trust.

“I think you see the flash plays,” Romo said on Sunday, via "NFL on CBS." “You want to see that ability to extend, create and make things that are out of the box.”

Romo added that Sanders has begun improving in decision-making, taking what defenses give him instead of forcing throws. The retired quarterback thinks that the games before the playoffs will be necessary for Sanders to prove himself.

“These next two games are absolutely critical for him," Romo said.

Sanders has thrown for 1,103 yards, six touchdowns and eight interceptions, completing 55.1 % of his passes with a QBR of 18.6.
