Isiah Pacheco will not be available for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday when they welcome the Indianapolis Colts. The running back has been listed as out as Chiefs coach Andy Reid made known in his media availability on Friday, marking the third straight game he's missing.
“As far as the injuries go, everybody practiced today. We’re going to end up listing (Isiah) Pacheco as out here in a minute,” Reid said, “Look forward to the challenge of playing Indy, heck of a football team. Again, we look forward to playing at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.”Isiah Pacheco has been sidelined since he sustained a knee injury in Week 8 against the Washington Commanders. While the running back has been crucial to the team's run game in the last couple of years, Andy Reid stressed that the prolonged absence does not constitute a setback.

There have been a lot of reactions to the absence of Pacheco for the game on social media amid the Chiefs’ struggles this year. The team suffered a loss at the hands of the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos in the running back’s absence, with the run game in both encounters below par.
Here's a look at some of the reactions online:
@AdamSchefter Pacheco is garbage even if he's healthy
@AdamSchefter Another week without Pacheco in the lineup certainly tests the Chiefs' backfield depth, though it's the prudent move to ensure he's fully recovered for the crucial stretch ahead.
@AdamSchefter isiah's absence is really felt.
@AdamSchefter Better safe than sorry but with the way the Chiefs have been playing they need all the help they can get
@AdamSchefter Pacheco out again? The Chiefs run game said ‘you’re on your own.
@AdamSchefter Pacheco out here healing up like Wolverine so he can come back and truck the entire AFC in January—that’s the priority.
The Chiefs' running back room in Isiah Pacheco’s absence
The absence of Isiah Pacheco from the Chiefs’ lineup is undoubtedly a big blow to the team's run game. They ran a dismal 62 yards in the disappointing 22-19 loss to the Denver Broncos last week, raising a lot of concerns.
Nonetheless, the Chiefs will be turning to Kareem Hunt for production in the run game against the Colts. The veteran running back contributed most of the production on the ground for the Chiefs against the Broncos, rushing for 59 yards on 13 carries.
Rookie Brashard Smith and fifth-year running back Elijah Mitchell are the other options the Chiefs can turn to in making the run game active against the Colts. The two will be looking to impress if they get a chance to make a carry or two in the game.
