Tiger Woods was spotted in public on Tuesday in Florida. The 15-time major winner was seen at a Bridgestone Golf content shoot, just a month after undergoing a seventh back surgery. However, the legendary golfer is not teeing up at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship 2025.
For the unversed, pictures of Woods attending the event in golf wear circulated online. The images, shared by content creators including St Andre Golf, saw the player in a relaxed form. However, several fans online were quick to note that he didn’t seem to be in the condition to compete. The 49-year-old had his disc replaced back in October, his third procedure in just 13 months, and is still in recovery.
It is also noteworthy that he had underwent a micro decompression surgery of the lumbar spine for nerve impingement in the lower back in September 2023. Despite the continued health issues, Woods teed up at the Genesis Invitational in February 2024. However, he was forced to cut his outing short in the third round due to back spasms. He underwent a surgery and returned to the playing field at last December’s PNC Championship with son Charlie.
Tiger Woods also competed for his Jupiter Links GC side in the inaugural season of TGL from January to March. He underwent a surgery on his left achilles to treat “a minimally-invasive achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon” with a week to end of the tournament. Now, the ace golfer has made a public appearance hinting at a possible comeback soon.
When will Tiger Woods play next?
For the unversed, Tiger Woods' public spotting comes amid rumors of the 82-time PGA Tour winner joining the PGA Tour Champions as he turns 50 in December. He is yet to deny the rumors linking him to the senior tour despite the circuit voicing their excitement to welcome him. While he is yet to comment on the circuit’s invite and a possible move, the ace golfer recently made a big statement on returning to golf for the TGL in 2026.
Taking to his X handle, the golfer wrote that he will be in attendance at all of Jupiter Links GC's fixtures for the upcoming tournament. However, the Jupiter Links GC skipper did not specify the possibility of his role at the event that is set to tee off at the SoFi Center on 13 January. The revelation came as part of the golfer’s exchange with the Jupiter Links' social team, who were wishing him a speedy recovery after the back surgery.
The five-time Masters champion jokingly asked team ambassador Will Lowery to take care of his TaylorMade clubs.
Replying to his TGL team’s wish on X / Twitter, Tiger Woods wrote:
“I’ll be there for every match! Looking forward to seeing everyone on January 13th for our home opener. And @WillLowery, hands off my sticks!”https://x.com/TigerWoods/status/1978838041385947351

For the unversed, the tech-infused TGL project was co-founded by Tiger Woods alongside his long-term friend Rory McIlroy. The first season of the ambitious event wrapped earlier this year with Justin Thomas’ Atlanta Drive GC defeating Xander Schauffele’s New York Golf Club in the final. Woods is now set to headline the second season in 2026 alongside McIlroy, who leads the Boston Common Golf team.
